The petitioner has requested the court to apply the principle of disqualification in election

disputes and also to interpret Article 184 and Article 99.

On the other hand, the Election Commission of Pakistan has restored the membership of Ishaq Dar as a Senator.

The commission restored the membership of Ishaq Dar on the order of the Supreme Court.

Ishaq Dar’s membership was suspended from June 2018 to January 2022. The Election Commission has withdrawn the notification of suspension of membership on June 29, 2018.

Ishaq Dar’s membership has been restored from March 9, 2018. The Election Commission has issued a notification to restore the membership of Ishaq Dar.

Similarly, on December 30, 2021, it decided to close the investigation into the case of distribution of LDA plots against PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Former DG NAB Lahore Saleem Shehzad gave approval to close the investigation.

NAB Lahore has sent the file to the Chairman National Accountability Bureau for final decision. The investigation team had recommended in the inquiry report to close the investigation. A complaint was received against Nawaz Sharif on April 3, 2000.

Nawaz Sharif, as the Chief Minister of Punjab, was accused of distributing plots among people close to him. Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s spokesman Muhammad Zubair said that cases were made against Nawaz Sharif on political grounds.
